Speciality Beer Bar in Amsterdam

Speciality Beer Bar in Amsterdam

A historic pub overlooking the IJ

On the corner of Westerdoksdijk and Barentszplein, overlooking the IJ, Café Westerdok has been part of Amsterdam since 1899. What started as a neighbourhood pub has grown into a respected beer speciality in Amsterdam — without losing its character or sense of calm.

A traditional pub, not a trendy Tik Tok bar

No flashy design. No loud music competing with conversation. Café Westerdok is a traditional specialty beer bar in Amsterdam where people come to talk, to taste and to take their time. This is a place where beer is chosen carefully and served properly. Where atmosphere comes naturally.

A family behind the bar

Owner and beer specialist Steve runs the pub together with his wife Adeline and their son Justin.

Personal and welcoming

Most evenings, you’ll find Steve and Adeline behind the bar themselves. They know their regulars. And first-time visitors quickly feel at home. That personal attention is what turns a beer bar into a place people return to.

More than ten beers on draught

More than ten beers on draught. Many more in bottle. Always at the right temperature. Always in the correct glass. If you are looking for a genuine beer speciality in Amsterdam, you’ve just found it.
